Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
When a name or case number is entered into a search box, the query is sent to the third-party provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query and returns its result. Greene County Court Docket does not keep or log the search terms entered through those tools.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If you send a message to us, we retain it to respond or manage the communication. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by a legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers can receive routine technical information when a page loads, including:
- The IP address associated with the visit.
- Browser type and version.
- Device type and operating system.
- Pages viewed and time spent on them.
- The referring site, when one is provided.
- Time stamps for page requests.
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device that help measure traffic patterns and site performance. Analytics services may aggregate that usage information. Browser controls can limit or block cookies, although some features may then behave differently.
What We Do With This Data
- Operate, maintain, and improve the resource.
- Send search requests to the selected provider.
- Measure which pages and functions are useful.
- Identify and address technical problems.
- Serve advertising that may be relevant to visitors.
No Court-Record Data on File
Greene County Court Docket does not host, compile, maintain, or sell a database of court dockets or personal case records. It offers general information about where Greene County records are held: the Greene County Clerk of Superior Court, Greene County District Court and Superior Court, and the North Carolina eCourts Portal. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor data is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party files.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the search boxes used on some pages. Information submitted to those tools is governed by the provider’s own privacy policy, retention practices, and sharing terms. We do not control those practices. Review the provider’s policy before entering information into its service.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Greene County clerk pages, North Carolina court resources, Portal, legal-aid resources, or third-party search tools. Once you leave this resource, the receiving site’s policy applies to your visit. Review that policy before sharing personal information.
Advertising partners may track activity across websites for ad delivery. Any such tracking occurs through their systems, not through a court-record database maintained by Greene County Court Docket.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Information may be disclosed to:
- Search providers that process a query you submit.
- Analytics providers used to measure performance.
- Advertising networks that place ads on our pages.
- Government or law-enforcement bodies when a valid legal order requires disclosure.
How We Protect Your Data
We use reasonable security practices for the information we collect. No internet system is entirely risk-free, so we cannot promise that a security incident will never occur.
Users Under 18
This resource is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If you believe a minor has sent us personal data, contact us so the issue can be reviewed.
Your Data Rights
North Carolina’s G.S. 7A-109 addresses clerk-maintained court records, files, dockets, and indexes, subject to legal limits. It is court-record access context, not a general privacy statute for this private resource. You may nevertheless ask us to:
- Provide information we keep about you.
- Correct inaccurate information in our files.
- Delete information where deletion is appropriate.
- Limit certain processing where an available choice applies.
Updates to This Policy
We may revise this policy as our practices change. A revised version will be posted here with an updated effective date.
